Droud Wins Young Memorial

Des Moines, Iowa - For the second time, Don Droud Jr. won the Danny Young
Memorial for 360 sprint cars Friday night at the Iowa State Fair Speedway.
The race honored Young who died in an accident at the Knoxville Raceway in
1995.  Young had won 62 of 66 features in his career at the fairgrounds.
Matt Moro finished second and Doran Doty was third.
On this opening night of the season, John Logue captured the IMCA modified
feature followed by last year's champion Bill Davis Jr., Danny Wallace, and
Kendall Sather.
Don Killen held off the challenge of defending national champion Jeff
Anderson to win the IMCA stock car main.  Paul Anderson was third with Todd
Inman fourth.
In the new class, National Dirt Truck Association, Jeff Johnson was the
winner.
Keith Williamson won the first IMCA hobby stock feature with Steve Curtis
winning the second feature.
The Midwest Motorsports hard charger award went to Sean Allen.
IMCA late models begin their season at the speedway next week.  Racing in
all classes continues next Friday with hot laps around 6:00 followed by
racing.
