Jacobs Continues to Dominate

Des Moines, Iowa (July 9, 1999) -- Craig Jacobs continued to dominate the
IMCA late models at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Friday by winning his fifth
feature of the season.  Other winners were:  Pat Fagen, IMCA modifieds; Mark
Elliott, IMCA stock cars, Tim St. Arnold, 360 sprints; and Rick Gladson and
John Davis in IMCA hobby stocks..

Jacobs started eighth in the IMCA late model feature and passed David Stanton
for the lead on lap seven.  Darrell DeFrance finished second, Ron Cochran
third, and Rob Toland fourth.

Rod Richards was unable to fend off the challenge of Tim St. Arnold in the
360 sprint feature.  St. Arnold took his third checkered at the fairgrounds
this year ahead of Josh Higday, Doran Doty, and Bob Hildreth.

In the IMCA modified feature, Pat Fagen led all 15 laps of the feature for
the victory.  Dave Farren Sr. was second, Danny Wallace third, Eric Lundstrum
fourth, and Mark Allgood fifth.  After the race, fourth place finisher
Lundstrum refused to sell his motor when claimed.  Under IMCA rules, he will
lose all points for the season and the evening's winnings, be fined $1,000,
and suspended for 30 days by IMCA.

Mark Elliott and Don Killen traded the lead four times in the IMCA stock car
feature.  The race ended after 12 of the scheduled laps with Elliott as the
winner.  The race was shortened after one red and four yellow flags.  Killen
ran second, Todd Inman was third, and Steve Jackson finished fourth.

In the first IMCA hobby stock feature, Rick Gladson won by leading all 12
laps.  Larry Embrey was second, Mike Whitehead third, and Don Wear fourth.
In the second feature, John Davis passed Bill Bonnett on a restart near the
end of the race and pulled out the win,  Bonnett was second followed by Rusty
Groves and Steve Curtis.

Racing in all classes continues next Friday with hot laps at 6:15 and racing
at 7:00 P.M.
