Stuart, Iowa (May 21, 2000) – On a beautiful night Rod Scheuermann won the IMCA modified feature for the fourth time this year at the Stuart Speedway Sunday evening. Steve Jackson won the IMCA stock car feature, Kurt Mueller the IMCA hobby stock feature, Bob Morgan the dwarf car race, and the cruiser victory went to the duo of Day and Cole.
Plans are underway for the special next Sunday night when the Ron Little Memorial will be run with extra cash added to the purses. Little, a popular modified racer and car builder, died after racing at the track last year.
Rod Scheuermann took the checkered in the IMCA modified feature, as he was able to hold off a challenge from Dave Farren as they ran fast and high on the track. Joe College finished third and Terry Pruitt was fourth.
In the IMCA stock car feature, Steve Campbell jumped into the early lead but by the end of the race it was Steve Jackson who took the checkered first followed by Todd Inman, Erick Knudsen, and Tim Baker.
It took a couple of times to get the IMCA hobby stock feature started because of crashes, but once it started Kurt Mueller and Josh Reynolds ran one and two to the finish. Randy Embrey took third place and Jason Murray was fourth. After the race, Mike Pruitt claimed the engine of Randy Embrey.
Bob Morgan led green to checkered to win the dwarf car feature with Shane Hunter finishing second, Cliff Barber third, and Todd Shute fourth. Hunter won the Heartland Axle Exchange Trophy Dash.
Jason Day and Jake Cole won the cruiser feature with Matt Carney and Jeremy Christoffer second.
Racing continues in all classes next Sunday with gates opening at 4:30 P.M., hot laps at 6:15, followed by racing competition. The track phone is
