Stuart, Iowa (June 18, 2000) – David Cirksena continued his run of good fortune as he won his second straight IMCA stock car feature on Sunday at the Stuart Speedway. He won earlier in the weekend on Friday at the Iowa State Fair Speedway. Bob Airhart won his first IMCA modified feature of the year while Jason Murray won his second IMCA hobby stock main and Shane Hunter won his second dwarf car feature.
Bob Airhart took advantage of the front row starting position in the IMCA modified feature as he jumped into the lead as the green was thrown. He never gave up the lead, even with three restarts. For the entire race, he was chased by Dave Farren Jr. and Dave Farren Sr., who finished second and third respectfully. Terry Pruitt ran fourth.
In the IMCA stock car main, Steve Campbell passed Keith Knop on the fourth lap for the lead. Campbell ran hard with David Cirksena chasing him. Finally, on lap 12 of the 15-lap feature, Cirksena passed Campbell and later took the checkered first. Jerry McElderry finished second with Tim Baker third and Steve Jackson fourth.
Kurt Mueller was the early leader in the IMCA hobby stock feature. On lap seven, he spun out and the yellow flag was thrown. Mueller was placed at the end of the pack and Jason Murray inherited the lead. Murray, not one to mess up some good luck, kept the lead and won the race. Jeremy Embrey was second, Bob Miller third, and Todd Cooper was fourth. Josh Reynolds had finished third, but was docked two positions for jumping a restart.
In the dwarf car feature, Shane Hunter passed Shawn Edwards for the lead on lap three and won the race. Rick Dennis finished second, with Cliff Barber third, and Bob Morgan in fourth.
For the sixth time this year, the duo of Meyer and Meyer won the cruiser feature. Atherton and Marchart finished second.
