College, Jackson, and Grove

Stuart, Iowa (July 18) -- On Sunday, three drivers won their third main event 
of the year at the Stuart Speedway - Joe College, IMCA modified; Steve 
Jackson, IMCA stock car; and Frank Grove, IMCA hobby stock.  other victors 
were Tony Coe in the dwarf car main, Kevin Howard in the other hobby stock 
race, and the duo of Forcht and Partlow in cruisers.
In the IMCA modified feature, Steve Wahlert led the early laps until Joe 
College passed him.  College was able to stay ahead of Dave Farren Sr. to 
collect the victory.  Wahlert finished third and current points leader, Terry 
Pruitt, was fourth. 
The IMCA stock car main event consisted of three segments.  Shawn Emmons led 
the first section, Ron Godwin led the next section, and Steve Jackson led at 
the checkered.  Jackson expanded his points lead with his victory as Godwin 
finished second, David Cirksena third, and Joe College fourth. 
Frank Grove led all 12 laps of the first IMCA hobby stock feature.  Larry 
Embrey finished second, Dave McDonald third, and Randy Embrey fourth.   In 
the second feature, Rusty Bates took the early lead, but left the race after 
a caution on lap six.  Curt Smith then inherited the lead, but Kevin Howard 
passed him on the next lap and won the race.  Chris Pruitt was second, Mark 
Chance third, and James May fourth.  
Randy Embrey leads Keith Williamson and Pruitt in season points. The A to Z 
Rental Trophy Dash was won by Larry Embrey.
In the dwarf car feature, a third lap accident gathered up about half the 
field.  Once realigned, Tony Coe passed Todd Shute for the lead and then won 
the race.  Rob Edwards finished second, Bob Thomas third, and points leader, 
Cliff Barber, was fourth. The Heartland Truck Exchange trophy Dash was won by 
Barber.
In the cruisers, the team of Forcht and Partlow passed the car of Swalla and 
Kalbach on the ninth lap for the victory.   Standing atop the point standings 
are Tuller and Hawley.
It was announced that a "Cruisers Nationals" will be held at the Stuart 
Speedway in mid September with cruisers, hobby stocks, and dwarf cars 
running.  Racing continues in all classes next Sunday with gates opening at 
4:30 P.M., hot laps at 6:15, and competition at 7:00.
