STUART WINS TO FARREN AND SCHMITZ

Stuart, Iowa (August 1) -- Dave Farren Sr., the "winningest" driver in IMCA
modified history, added another victory to his record Sunday at the Stuart
Speedway. Jeff Schmitz won the IMCA stock car race, Nyle Godwin and Bill
Bonnett won IMCA hobby stock mains, Bob Morgan claimed the dwarf car win, and
the team of Chris Forcht and Partlow won the cruiser race.
Dave Farren Sr. pulled away from the field early in the IMCA modified feature
and then held off the challenge by Terry Pruitt late in the race to gain the
victory. Joe College finished third behind Pruitt and Dave Farren Jr. was
fourth.
In the IMCA stock car main, Jeff Schmitz won by passing Ron Godwin on the
fourth lap and fending off the challenges of David Cirksena and Steve Jackson
late in the race. Cirksena completed the race in second, Jackson third, and
fourth place went to Joe College.
Nyle Godwin led all 12 laps of the IMCA hobby stock main to capture the win.
Finishing behind him in the top four were Damon Murty, Mike Pruitt, and Chris
Pruitt. After the race, Josh Reynolds claimed the engine of Mike Pruitt. In
the second feature Bill Bonnett beat Frank Grove, Randy Embrey, and Mark
Chance to the checkered. The A to Z Rental Trophy Dash was won by Randy
Embrey.
On the last lap of the dwarf car feature, Bob Morgan passed leader Todd Shute
and won the race. Cliff Barber was third and Mike Morrill was fourth. The
Heartland Truck Exchange trophy Dash was won by Morrill.
The cruiser feature was won by Chris Forcht and Partlow.
Racing continues in all classes next Sunday with gates opening at 4:30 P.M.,
hot laps at 6:15, and competition at 7:00.
